Stuttgart/Neckarsulm, 20 October 2022 – Bechtle is expanding its footprint in Stuttgart and making the move to Campus Sternhöhe along with four group companies. Close to 8,000 m2 over five floors are being converted into a spacious environment for interdisciplinary collaboration, which the Bechtle IT System House Stuttgart will share with ERP specialist Modus Consult, printing solutions provider PP 2000 and CAD/PLM subsidiary DPS Software, creating an IT future hub for digital transformation—a model soon to be rolled out at other Bechtle locations. Renovations at the Campus’ House 5 are expected to be completed by the beginning of March 2023. With a long-term lease signed, the new premises will provide 100 additional workplaces and opportunities for further expansion to adapt to projected growth.
The former home of the Daimler Group headquarters in Stuttgart-Möhringen provides the optimum canvas to combine Bechtle’s concept of collaboration between subsidiaries with meeting employees’ needs for a highly-modern, creative work environment to leverage the economic benefits of the resulting synergies. The move to bring Bechtle Group companies, which all specialise in different fields, under one roof is also beneficial for customers, who will profit from holistic support and care.
IT future hub for digital transformation established
Spread across five floors with a central reception area as well as training and meeting rooms, warehousing space and an installation area, the new office will be a mix of desks that can be booked as and when required and some permanently allocated. In this way, Bechtle is able to fulfil the diverse requirements of collaborative working and flexibly meet the need for a mix of office-based and mobile working.
The open-plan concept in particular is designed to promote teamwork and creative collaboration within groups brought together for each individual project. These teams are supported by modern meeting rooms equipped with the latest conferencing systems, which are also intended to be shared with students from the nearby Hohenheim University, building on the already close cooperation.
Attractive employee service offerings
In the future, the Campus will become home to a restaurant with generous indoor and outdoor seating, a daycare, sports, health and shopping facilities and parks. Another crucial factor in the decision to make the move to an office designed to Bechtle’s specifications was sustainability and the landlord, alstria office REIT-AG, striving towards Green Building certification. Bechtle will itself install 40 electric vehicle charging points in order to roll out the group-wide Charge@Work concept to the Stuttgart site.
“From an economic point of view, Stuttgart is hugely important and we are aiming to achieve very ambitious growth targets here. We aren’t just moving into highly-modern premises where our employees can feel at home, but are establishing an ideal environment for collaboration that will enable us to support our customers in every aspect of their digital transformation journey with ever-evolving teams,” says Michael Guschlbauer, COO IT System House & Managed Services, Bechtle AG.
