Digital manufacturing for greater innovation and efficiency.
Manufacturing companies use a range of digital methods, tools and processes to ensure a seamless transition from development to production. Our manufacturing solutions enable you to make good use of the extensive information made available by your 3D CAD models for reliable and efficient programming of machines. You will be able to eliminate error-prone, time-consuming and repetitive, manual processes, so that you can focus on the important components. Optimise your product development processes to increase production efficiency, give yourself a competitive edge and leverage the benefits of Industry 4.0.
How you benefit from our manufacturing solutions:
CAM solutions for greater speed and affordability.
Computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) involves software generating NC codes for manufacturing and production planning that are independent of the CNC machines. These codes are then used to control machinery and 3D printers, but unlike NC codes generated in a workshop (WOP), the NC program is created with the CAM system in the planning stage.
Planning and quality control require documents such as drawings, BOM symbols and audit reports to be created, but this is a time-consuming task that tends to fall to designers and quality control inspectors who usually edit them all manually. With an audit report solution, you don’t only save time, but minimise errors and boost quality by generating reports compliant with AS9102, PPAP, ISO 13485, etc. with the template editor.
Simulating tool paths with CAM software isn’t always enough when it comes to avoiding breakages and machine crashes. If you are looking to escape damage, NC simulations create a 3D digital twin of your CNC machine based on actual NC code so you can see syntax errors, path limitations, and potential collisions before you start production in order to shorten set-up times and so much more.
Machine simulations pick up costly programming errors and accelerate on-site start-up. A Cimco simulation, for example, allows you to test out your NC code on a 3D model of your CNC machine and see the exact movement of components such as heads, spindles, and even peripheral devices. Collisions and out of limit moves are automatically detected to ensure that error-free code is sent to the physical machine.
Tool management.
Tool management organises all information about existing tools before organising and integrating it into the environment. These data are then saved in a database before being collected and used by tool management software such as TDM or Wintool to link virtual planning and real-world production and optimise processes.
Drawingless manufacture.
The aim of drawingless manufacture is to attach the Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) usually found in drawings for quality control, production and other tasks directly to the 3D model. In this way, it’s possible to do away with drawings all together. These model-based definitions (MBD) can be integrated into the production processes to considerably boost productivity, save time and money, reduce rework and waste and enhance accuracy compared to 2D drawings.
Sheet metal fabrication.
Sheet metal fabrication is part and parcel of many industries with sheet metal parts of all shapes and sizes needed for machine engineering and the automotive and aerospace industries. With solutions such as TopsWorks and SPI SheetMetalWork fully integrated into SOLIDWORKS, your sheet metal fabrication processes will be more streamlined plus you’ll save on development and manufacturing costs and achieve consistent workflows all the way from design to delivery.
Production planning and simulation.
Fantastic products start off as fantastic designs, but even the best ideas will fail if you can’t manufacture them efficiently. With the DELMIAWorks CAM solution, you have the ability to simulate manufacturing processes even before the production line has been set up. Boost programming accuracy through advanced processing strategies and make sure tool paths are collision free with tool machining simulations. DELMIAWorks is the all-in-one 3DExperience platform solution for production planning and simulation.
Woodworking.
SWOOD is a powerful 3D CAD/CDM solution that ensures consistency throughout the design and manufacturing process. Designed specifically for woodworking, it is the ideal tool for carpenters, designers and interior designers. The design and production software is fully integrated into SOLIDWORKS and offers a raft of benefits including intuitive use, accelerated design processes, data security, and cross-system and department product data availability. The solution is also business-oriented, digitalises analogue processes and allows existing resources to be optimally used.
Stamping and forming technology.
In some instances, stamped, stamp bent and deep-drawn metal parts are manufactured according to customer specifications and a software solution like Logopress® is perfect for making the design and manufacturing process as effective as possible. With tool simulation and design software, designers are able to put together strip layouts with simulation-backed analyses while specialist features help optimise the selected manufacturing methods and subsequent tool design in the SOLIDWORKS environment you know.

We aspire to a fully integrated system of processes—from design to manufacture—with SOLIDWORKS at the heart. We rely on universal software that is used throughout the company and that every employee knows how to use, even if they work on a different machine. This gives us flexibility both in production and design and is possible thanks to the SOLIDWORKS platform.
