Neckarsulm, 30 July 2019 – The Bechtle AG Supervisory Board has reappointed COOs Michael Guschlbauer (IT System House & Managed Services) and Jürgen Schäfer (IT E-Commerce) for another five years. The contract of CEO Dr Thomas Olemotz was extended ahead of schedule in 2017 and runs until 31 December 2021, indicating the Supervisory Board’s continued desire to work with the organisation’s well established three-strong leadership. The extension is testament to the confidence placed in the Executive Board, which has not seen a reshuffle since 2009. In the years since then, Bechtle AG has more than tripled its revenue and earnings.
Michael Guschlbauer, 55, teamed up with Bechtle in January 2008 as the Executive Vice President for Managed Services. He joined the Executive Board a year later as the strategic head of the Bechtle Group’s IT System House & Managed Services segment. Under his leadership, Bechtle has successfully developed its service and managed services business and grown to become a true solutions provider.
Jürgen Schäfer, 60, has been with Bechtle for 31 years, making him one of the company’s longest-serving employees. Initially responsible for the Purchasing and Organisation departments, he later took the helm of the Bechtle Würzburg system house. He subsequently went on to successfully grow Bechtle’s e-commerce business through its eponymous brand, Bechtle direct, spearheading the expansion into new European markets and centralising all related processes within the company’s logistics & services subsidiary.
