Long-time companion returns to the Supervisory Board
AGM approves dividend increase

Neckarsulm, 12 June 2018 – Klaus Winkler has been elected to chair Bechtle AG’s Supervisory Board at its constitutive meeting. He succeeds Dr Matthias Metz, whose regular term ended to coincide with the conclusion of the 2018 AGM. Klaus Winkler had previously been on the board from 1999 to 2013. The 60-year-old has a background in banking and business administration and is also the current CEO of the Heller Group.

Today, Bechtle AG’s Annual General Meeting saw the regular election of shareholder representatives to the newly composed Supervisory Board. Some 600 shareholders and shareholder representatives were present to cast their votes. New to the board are Dr Lars Grünert and Klaus Winkler. Also elected was Elke Reichhart, who had already been appointed by court in December 2017. Kurt Dobitsch, Prof. Dr Thomas Hess and Sandra Stegman all had their previous mandates reconfirmed with robust majorities.

At its subsequent constitutive meeting, the Supervisory Board elected Klaus Winkler as its new chair. Mr Winkler has known Bechtle for over 20 years and brings with him his experience in the management of a medium-sized global player. As the managing director of BWK GmbH, he oversaw its stake in Bechtle prior to the company’s IPO, and in 1999 was appointed to Bechtle’s first Supervisory Board when it took the legal form of an Aktiengesellschaft.

The six employee representatives to the board had already been elected in April with effect from the AGM’s conclusion. Uli Drautz, Daniela Eberle, Volker Strohfeld, as well as union representatives Barbara Greyer (ver.di) and Michael Unser (IG Metall) were all re-elected to the board and are now joined by Anton Samija.

The AGM also approved the 20 per cent dividend increase proposed by Bechtle AG’s Executive and Supervisory Boards, bringing it to € 0.90 per share. This is the eighth consecutive time Bechtle has raised its regular dividend.

Bechtle appoints Chief Technology Officer

For the first time in the company’s history, Bechtle will appoint a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) from 01 January 2023, with the position being filled from within its own ranks by Dirk Müller-Niessner, who will take on responsibility for all Bechtle Group platform activities.

Michael Möllers works as a consultant in the Bechtle Competence Center Digital Solutions. His focus is on business model innovation and digitalisation. Previously, he completed his M.Sc. in Strategic Entrepreneurship at the Erasmus University Rotterdam and studied during his bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences at Maastricht University and University of California, Santa Cruz.

Helge Höhn studied business informatics and worked as a consultant with a focus on collaboration and business intelligence in Frankfurt. As Senior Consultant he is responsible for the Microsoft Competence Center at Bechtle Mannheim. His focus topics are Modern Workplace with M365 and Security.

After completing his studies in sport science, American studies and philosophy, Stefan Maurer worked in Munich as a freelance journalist. He has been working for Bechtle AG as a Digital Content Specialist 2018. Before that, he worked for TSG Hoffenheim, taking care of the website and app for the Bundesliga team.

Christopher Diederich is a trained computer scientist and worked as a software developer and later for a management consultancy in the banking and energy sector before joining Bechtle. Since 2014, he has headed the DMS Competence Centre at Bechtle.

Marius König has been working as a Senior System Engineer in the Security Competence Team since May 2018. He is a trained IT specialist for system integration and has focused on security solutions for the past six years. His focus is on the products of the manufacturer Sophos. In this area he has implemented numerous security projects.
