Patrick Pötz studied information management at the University of Applied Sciences in Graz. Having always been interested in the subjects of networks and IT security, he deepened his knowledge by studying Advanced Security Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Kapfenberg. His Master thesis was on the topic of surveillance and the handling of sensitive data, specifically with regard to social media. He worked as a systems engineer for an SME in Graz from 21012 to 2016 before making the decision to travel the world as a freelancer. The following eleven months were spent supporting customers remotely while experiencing new countries and cultures and expanding his international network across Asia, Oceania and North America. His passion for IT security brought him to Germany and the beginning of 2017, taking up a position as a consultant for cirosec GmbH. He has been an IT security consultant for Bechtle Graz since October 2017.
