Bechtle adds Kubernetes specialist, KubeOps, to the fold

• Bechtle reaches for bigger share in the clouds market
• Expansion of expertise in Kubernetes and cloud computing

Neckarsulm, 15 October 2024 – In ARWINET GmbH and its spin-out, KubeOps GmbH, Bechtle AG has acquired two companies specialising in the two growth areas of Kubernetes and cloud services. Founded in 2011 and located in Bisingen, near Tübingen, ARWINET GmbH and KubeOps GmbH—which was spun off in 2019—employ 93 staff and achieved revenues of 7.4 million euros in the last fiscal year, predominantly with its B2G customers. The current management team, Susanne Schmidt and Andreas Stroppel, will continue to lead the company under the Bechtle umbrella. In particular, the acquisition sees Bechtle expanding its expertise in Kubernetes through KubeOps, a Kubernetes Certified Service Provider recognised by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation in collaboration with the Linux Foundation. KubeOps perfectly complements Bechtle’s service portfolio, particularly for customers in critical infrastructure. Further potential for growth lies in the platform’s scalability to align with other industries, an increase in Bechtle’s cloud market share, and new synergies in the B2G business.

Originally developed by Google, Kubernetes is an open-source system to efficiently manage applications in so-called containers, which makes it easier to run, scale and update large, complex software deployments. By adding ARWINET and KubeOps to the fold, Bechtle is bolstering its expertise in the implementation of highly complex container solutions, which enable customers to securely and efficiently manage sensitive digital systems—particularly where there is an extreme need for availability, scalability and cybersecurity.
