Bechtle will send off two of its long-standing Executive Vice Presidents to retirement at the turn of the year. Gerhard Marz, Bechtle AG, who as EVP has been overseeing the group’s Public Sector division, is set to pass the baton on to Steven Handgrätinger, head of Public Sector, after 26 years with the company. Elmar König, Bechtle Systemhaus Holding AG, will step down from the helm of the Cluster North/East division after 16 years according to plan. He will be succeeded by Frank Diers, Managing Director, Bechtle IT System House Bielefeld.

The Global IT Alliance (GITA) is expanding its footprint in North and Central America. The Canadian IT service provider Compugen and Caribbean Microsoft specialist Inova Solutions are the newest members of the international partner network, which was co-founded by Bechtle.

Dataport has awarded Bechtle Hamburg the framework agreement “Supply of hardware and services for IT seats” effective from 1 January 2023. Dataport will procure standardised hardware and related services for its own organisation and customers over the following four years until the end of 2026. The scope essentially comprises PCs, notebooks, thin clients and monitors for around 100,000 seats, with a total volume of approx. €220 million.

Cloud infrastructure specialist IONOS has named Bechtle as its Cloud Partner of the Year. The honour was announced yesterday during the virtual IONOS Partner Summit and recognises the outstanding devel-opment in collaboration between the European IT companies. Since 2020, Bechtle and IONOS have been successfully serving the growing demand from companies and the public sector for powerful, secure and data-sovereign cloud solutions.

Despite the ongoing global supply bottlenecks, Bechtle AG again recorded considerable revenue and earnings growth in the third quarter of 2021. Revenue increased 9.1 per cent to €1,496.1 million, a high growth level similar to that of the prior year. Earnings before taxes (EBT) underwent disproportionately high growth of 21.4 per cent to €87.0 million. The EBT margin thus improved from 5.2 per cent to 5.8 per cent. As of 30 September 2021, Bechtle had 12,744 employees, 689 more than in the prior year.

The Supervisory Board of Bechtle AG today approved the proposal submitted by the Executive Board to suspend the intended re-registration of the company under the corporate form of a Societas Europaea (SE), or European Company, and terminate any efforts in this regard.

Bechtle AG has announced a new sponsorship deal with the women’s national league handball team, Sport-Union Neckarsulm, for this ongoing and the next two seasons. Neckarsulmer Sport-Union e.V. has more than 3,000 members playing 16 sports. The club not only promotes sport at a grassroots level, but also develops various disciplines to a top-league competitive level.

In the third quarter of 2021, Bechtle AG achieved earnings before taxes (EBT) of around €87 m, preliminary figures suggest. This equals an increase over the previous year (€71.7 m) of about 21%, and was largely fuelled by the operational side of business. Bechtle thus also significantly exceeds market expectations. Revenue between July and September climbed to some €1,490 m, or more than 8% above the previous year (€1,370.9 m). The EBT margin went up accordingly to an expected 5.8%.

Bechtle AG today introduced its Sustainability Strategy 2030, The Neckarsulm-based IT company with branches in 14 European coun-tries is thus formalising a number of economic, environmental and social concerns, correlating strategic objectives with concrete measures.

Bechtle’s Austria IT system house has acquired Vienna-based IT service provider Open Networks GmbH. The purchase sees Bechtle further bolster its position as an IT solutions and service provider on the Austrian market, adding to the fold an organisation special-ised in delivering IT infrastructure solutions and application, data centre, security and network services.
