Neckarsulm/Hille, 21 December 2018 – Bechtle AG acquires R.Bücker EDV-Beratung Datentechnik GmbH (Bücker), headquartered in Hille, East Westphalia. Founded in 1992, the specialist in IT security employs 43 people and generated revenues of more than 16 million euros in 2017. Bücker boasts renowned experts in the growing security market, excellent vendor relationships, and a loyal customer base across industries. The sale also enables the IT consultancy to secure eventual succession to founders Rosemarie and Peter Bücker, who are continuing to serve as managing directors of the company. Following the sale, which is still subject to approval by the relevant competition authorities, the company is to operate under the name Bücker Security GmbH.
Bücker has been active in the German IT market for 26 years, and has established itself across the country as a specialist for IT security, particularly for SMEs and public institutions. Their portfolio covers IT security licensing, consultation, and services. “With Bücker, we’ve gained a team of excellently trained security specialists with a great customer rapport. This acquisition doesn’t just reinforce our diverse security community across the DACH region, it also bolsters our position in the economically attractive region of East Westphalia. I am convinced that the combination of Bechtle and Bücker will prove a great success for customers, employees, and vendors alike,” says Oliver Schmidt, Executive Vice President, Bechtle Managed Services AG.
The current leadership, founders Rosemarie and Peter Bücker, will remain in place, lending continuity to the management. “The decision to join Bechtle gives us the opportunity to continue to grow at our Hille location. It will ensure long-term stability, reliability, and security for our employees and customers which, as a family, have always been priorities for us. We’re excited about the future under the Bechtle umbrella,” says Rosmarie Bücker, Managing Director at R.Bücker EDV-Beratung Datentechnik GmbH.
The purchase price and conditions remain confidential. The acquisition remains subject to the approval by the relevant competition authorities. The plan is to change the company’s name to Bücker Security GmbH and add the statement shared by all Bechtle’s companies; “A member of the Bechtle Group”.
