From recycled plastics to new possibilities.
Creating a better future for our planet and society requires a different approach to solving big challenges without creating new ones.
Logitech is embracing circularity by using recycled plastics in its products to give waste plastics a new lease of life while minimising its carbon footprint.

REDUCING YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT.
Using recycled plastic is a key part of Logitech’s Design for Sustainability efforts. The company is increasingly using recycled plastics across top-selling product lines for mice, keyboards, webcams and speakers. More than 65% of the mice and keyboards in our largest product portfolio are now made with recycled plastic. Logitech has eliminated an estimated 8,000 tons of virgin plastic, equating to an estimated 19,000 tons of CO2 saved across the product lifecycle for those products.
DESIGN INNOVATION.
Logitech is innovating to give plastics a second life. Today, many recycled plastic resins are limited to black or grey colours and do not perform in the same way as virgin plastic, which introduces product design challenges. Since 2017, Logitech has been working with plastic suppliers to design new and stronger resins in a range of new colours. These new resins are used in Logitech products to give consumers more colour options without compromising on product quality, while also being available to other companies, to help reduce our industry’s carbon impact.
TRANSPARENCY.
Logitech’s design goal is to maximise the percentage of recycled plastic in its products. When calculating the percentage achieved, the company follows a defined protocol and uses a third-party validated approach. Logitech is working to obtain product certifications for all of our products with recycled plastics and we commit to disclosing our certifications here, to empower consumers and stakeholders with information.

Taking action to help shape a climate positive future.
As of 2021, all Logitech products are carbon neutral. That’s great but it's not enough. Over the last few years, Logitech has been prioritising carbon reductions in our products while also transitioning to renewable energy, restoring forests, and supporting climate-impacted communities. But, the company wants to go beyond that to address the full impact of its value chain, ultimately removing more carbon from the atmosphere than it put in. This makes up part of Logitech’s commitment to be carbon neutral by 2030.
Responsible packaging.
Packaging plays a critical role in all Logitech products, keeping them safe as they move around the world from its factory floor to your home, as well as defining the first look and feel of the product experience. Logitech is continually refine the design of our packaging to reduce the environmental impact of our designs by reducing weight, maximising the use of renewable resources and ensuring the recyclability of its materials Logitech draws on international practice to deliver consistently lower impact packaging.
Logitech has begun placing product carbon impact labels on packaging. Today, there are two types, both featuring a 'Certified Carbon Neutral' statement because the company has offset the remaining carbon emissions across our entire company and product portfolio. Products with a carbon impact number have undergone a detailed analysis to determine the total amount of carbon emitted during manufacturing, transportation, use, and end-of-life. Eventually, all of Logitech products will feature a carbon impact label.
Why does the percentage of recycled content vary across products?
The percentage of recycled plastic (post-consumer recycled, PCR) in each product will vary depending on the type, colour and material make-up of a product. The percent of a product’s plastic parts made of PCR currently ranges from 80% PCR content to no less than 20% for the technically complex lighter colour products. Logitech’s design goal is to continue to maximize the percentage of recycled content in each product.
When you buy a recycled plastic product, you can rely on the same great product experience you have come to expect from Logitech products, with the additional benefit of knowing your purchasing decision has led to a reduced impact on the environment. Logitech’s recycled plastic resins and products go through the same robust performance and quality testing processes as its other products and meet all the required standards.
When will all Logitech products incorporate recycled plastics?
Logitech’s goal is to use recycled plastics as much as possible. It prioritises its top-selling products, in pursuit of the largest carbon footprint reduction opportunities, while driving continuous innovation with new resins and colours, to push the limits of what is currently possible for recycled plastic.
In many countries, Logitech directly or indirectly finances government recycling programmes and lends its weight to existing programs on the ground, which arrange the collection of consumer electronics for safe recycling. Visit the Logitech recycling page to learn more.
