Neckarsulm, 23 December 2020 – Bechtle will provide IT infrastructure equipment and related operation services for Corona vaccination centres in Germany and several other European countries. The IT service provider has been commissioned to deliver and configure desktops, laptops and peripheral devices, deploy network infrastructure, and provide technical support to ensure seamless IT operations.
Several Bechtle locations have received orders to support vaccination centres that will soon go into operation to combat COVID-19. Bechtle will provide IT hardware and services for numerous vaccination centres in Germany as well as institutions in other European countries, including the main vaccination centre in Würzburg, Bavaria’s largest pop-up vaccination centre, where up to 1,000 people will be inoculated against the Coronavirus each day. As of 26 December, specialised service technicians from Bechtle Würzburg will be working with the city of Würzburg’s own IT staff to ensure round-the-clock operation of the centre’s IT workstations. Bechtle will be providing these managed services seven days a week, for a period of six months, with the possibility of an extension.
Covering a wealth of needs
Other IT system houses and Bechtle direct subsidiaries in Germany and abroad will also equip vaccination centres with the required IT hardware, such as PCs, notebooks, monitors, printers and scanners, with some also providing configuration services and technical support on site. An expo venue has contracted Bechtle experts to upgrade their network infrastructure to help it meet the new requirements it faces as a future vaccination centre. Bechtle is already a partner of a Southern German health authority, and has recently provided one of its locations with IT clients for corona tracking procedures.
