The best for you: the new main offers from VMware.
By simplifying the portfolio, there are now two clear main offerings:
- VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is the leading hybrid cloud solution that enables customers to run business-critical and modern applications in a fail-safe and cost-efficient manner. It offers a set of software-defined services for computing, storage, networking, security and cloud management to run enterprise applications in private or public environments. To enable more customers to benefit from this solution, the previous subscription list price has been reduced by half and higher support service levels have been added, including extended support for solution activation and lifecycle management. In addition, VMware vSAN with 1TiB per core is included. This is optionally upgradeable.
- The new VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF) provides a simplified workload platform for midsize and smaller organisations. This solution integrates vSphere with VMware's intelligent operations management, ensuring optimised performance, availability and efficiency as well as improved visibility and insight. A trial version of VMware vSAN with 100 GB per core is also included.
VCF and VVF offer optional add-ons. Both support storage offerings, ransomware and disaster recovery services as well as application platform services. In addition, VCF offers application networking and security offerings. More advanced services, including private AI, will be available soon.
The new subscription model.
VMware has finalised the transition to a subscription model. With a simplified portfolio, only subscriptions or perpetual licences are available from today. The sale of perpetual licences and SnS renewals has been discontinued.
We can help you review your perpetual licence inventory, including refresh cycles and renewal dates, and familiarise yourself with VMware's available subscription offerings. You can also count on us to help you "trade-in" your perpetual products with upgrade pricing incentives.
Summary.
The road to this point has certainly been a little bumpy at times. Overall, however, the reorganisation and reorientation will lead to VMware customers reaching the pinnacle of the best cloud computing together with their trusted VMware partners.
