Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m 41-years-old and a married father of two wonderful children.
I was born and raised in Senegal before coming to live in the east of France in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, Nancy and Strasbourg.
Could you tell us a little about starting at ARP (which became Bechtle on 01 January 2022)?
When I joined, ARP was a start up finding its feet. It was my exciting daily work to go on research missions to our various branches in Germany, Switzerland, Holland and France. It quickly impressed upon me the concept and international power of the Bechtle Group—a key feature in the company’s strategy.
Could you tell us about your career?
I have a university degree in electrical engineering and industrial computing. I started out in sales at Office Depot where I learned a lot about product promotion, challenges, additional sales, upselling, and customer loyalty.
What does your current role consist of?
In addition to heading up a sales team, I’m responsible for everything that goes on at Bechtle Antony—all employees in all departments. I’m also the contact point for general management as well as the Head of Marketing and Communications.
In your opinion, what are the qualities required to be a branch manager?
It’s a very varied post that touches on general services, communications, and heavily on sales.
You need to be a real facilitator and like moving within interdepartmental teams.
What skills have you learned since joining Bechtle?
I’m naturally inquisitive and determined, so I’ve learned a huge amount about the world of IT, customer relationships, leadership and management.
I’ve learned a lot about having a long term vision on the projects I lead.
What is the next step in your Bechtle journey?
I’m blossoming in my my current role, helping deliver Bechtle solutions to customers, onboarding new talent and incorporating new skills into our team.
The Antony site near Paris presents enormous potential and a huge opportunity in Bechtle’s development in France as does the new branch in Aix en Provence.
Which three words best describe Bechtle?
Enterprising, kind, passionate!
But enough about work. Do you have any hobbies?
I have lots of hobbies like music, writing, travelling, architecture, football, and cooking.
How would your friends and family describe you?
They would say I was kind with good values such as acceptance.

Coach Carter! It’s based on a true story of basketball coach, Ken Carter.
Your favourite meal?
The national dish of Senegal, Thieboudienne, a delicacy of rice and fish!
And is there anything else we should know about you?
As some of my colleagues and customers already know, I was a professional artist for five years! This allowed me to travel around France and its neighbouring countries a lot. It was an extraordinary experience!
