Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m Boukman, 31, a married father of a little girl.
What was it like when you joined Bechtle?
When I arrived in May 2018, I worked for a year as an acquisitions manager which was a very formative position for me. Coming from a B2C background I was a little apprehensive of the business world and, above all, making calls.
But it quickly felt normal.
What’s your professional background?
Before starting at Bechtle, I had been working at the entertainment and leisure product company Darty in multimedia while doing my studies.
Staying in the area of virtual multimedia, I moved to video game retailer Micromania and quickly rose to Deputy and then Manager.
The return to reality this post afforded me put me on the path to become manager of the TV department at Hypermarket Auchan before making my way to where I currently am now at Bechtle!
- What does your current role consist of?
I’m an account developer.
My job consists of getting to know our customers and understanding their IT ecosystems, their purchase processes, various IT acquisition channels and offering a solution and our support to help them respond to different every-day issues and challenges.
What are the qualities required to be an account developer in your opinion?
An account manager needs to be able to see the whole picture, be ready to listen to their customers, proactive, and above all—creative!
Have you been able to acquire any new skills since starting at Bechtle?
I’ve been able to develop my IT skills and knowledge but also unleash my creativity more.
What is the next step in your Bechtle journey?
To keep on performing well while enjoying the ride!
- Which three words would you use to describe Bechtle?
-
Passionate, connected, and agile
- But enough talk about work! Do you have any hobbies?
- Football in and around Paris, and yes... I support Paris Saint-Germain! “Rêvons plus grand” (let’s dream bigger) is also the motto I live by.
I also really like body-building and playing video games!
- How would your friends and family describe you?
- As an ambitious person who’s sometimes a bit stubborn! It’s probably because of my star sign... Otherwise sociable, generous, respectful and nice.
- What film does everyone need to see?
-
The film 300, no question! (From 2006)
- Your favourite food?
-
A traditional dish from Haiti: Domboy or Joumou soup, a medley of meat, vegetables, pasta, and turban squash!
- And is there anything else we should know about you?
-
During my short career as an amateur footballer I had the chance to take part in the Challenge Orange at the Parc des Princes stadium in Paris and to sing the Marseillaise for a France vs. Germany match.
And my very brief career as a coach took me close to Barcelona and a few metres away from where Messi’s son was playing!
