Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) –
Respect for people. Passion for IT.

For Bechtle, corporate social responsibility is not just big words. It’s a big mission that we take to heart. We’ve been taking an active stance on CSR for a number of years, following our ideals of Respect for people and Passion for IT. Find out how we promote employee well-being and diversity at the workplace, what we are doing to enhance supply chain transparency, and how we are contributing to our various communities.

When we say sustainability, many people will instantly think of climate protection and carbon emissions, and they’re right, of course. But there’s so much more to it. It’s also about having a vision and goals that enable us to grow our business in a sustainable manner—with a sharp focus on our planet and the people that live on it.

We’ve been taking CSR action for a number of years, contributing to a variety of social projects in our communities and working our way back to where we source our products.

Bechtle NEXT – Together we care.

Bechtle NEXT hybrid – Together we care will be all about the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). With our Sustainability Strategy 2030, Bechtle is taking action to achieve these goals, but the UN asks every organisation to do its part. At Bechtle NEXT, we invite SDG experts and customers to help your organisation on its journey. How can you make sure that SDGs become integral to the way you do business? What steps have similar organisations taken to get where they are now?

Join us at Bechtle NEXT to find out answers to these questions (and more). Simply click on the button below to sign up!

In the video above Arthur Schneider, Sustainability Manager at Bechtle AG, explains how we ensure a transparent supply chain.

Supply chain transparency

Bechtle AG is working to establish a process that allows us to systematically assess the performance of suppliers and manufacturers with respect to environmental and social responsibility. Our parent organisation operates out of Germany, where legislation passed in the summer of 2021 and effective from 2023 requires organisations with 3,000+ employees—such as Bechtle—to identify, prevent and remedy human rights and environmental breaches both within their own organisations and at their direct suppliers.

The German Supply Chain Act requires Bechtle to ensure compliance with social and environmental standards along our supply chain, and we are determined to monitor our own activities, as well as those of our direct suppliers worldwide, and take corrective action when we find any party to be in violation of these standards. In the Netherlands, lawmakers are not quite as far along, but that can’t hold us back, and together with our colleagues across the border we are working to pioneer a new level of supply chain transparency here, too. We are looking forward, to sharing our experience from this international collaboration.

Supply chain transparency.

In the Netherlands, lawmakers are not quite as far along, but that can’t hold us back, and together with our colleagues across the border we are working to pioneer a new level of supply chain transparency here, too. We are looking forward to sharing our experience from this international collaboration, and perhaps inspiring other organisations to join us in our efforts to spearhead social responsibility.

Community partnerships.

We are proud to support a great variety of communities as a trusted IT partner, and not just through financial sponsorships, but also by sharing our passion for IT with children and young people. We are happy to be an active member in hand-picked communities such as Playing for Success Eindhoven and Brainport Development, spreading our passion for IT while scratching our itch to help individuals and organisations to advance their mission.

Playing for Success is one of the communities we are working with very closely. At home in Eindhoven’s Philips Stadion and Parktheater, Playing for Success is promoting development opportunities for children and young people, working with them to achieve important goals like positive self-perception and collaboration with their peers to help them succeed in school and nurture their self-confidence.

Watch our video to find out more about Playing for Success! Would you like to know more about how we support our communities? Simply download our whitepaper to learn more or get in touch with Gijs van der Putten, Partnerships & Communities Manager, who will be happy to talk with you.
