The managerohnegrenzen gGmbH foundation places experienced specialists and managers in social and economic projects worldwide. Thanks to its many international assignments, the non-profit organization has valuable experience and knowledge. However, the frequent turnover of volunteers made knowledge transfer difficult. Bechtle therefore worked with managerohnegrenzen to develop an AI-supported web application based on Microsoft Azure. This makes knowledge accessible in a structured way, provides relevant documents and answers questions automatically.

Challenge.

managerohnegrenzen has been campaigning for a world without poverty for over 20 years and has extensive data from many international projects. The extensive knowledge of the many volunteers is irreplaceable, but is often difficult for new experts and consultants to access. They have to laboriously familiarize themselves with it, while valuable information remains scattered in documents and archive systems. The foundation therefore wanted to make its knowledge efficiently usable while ensuring secure access to sensitive information. The aim was to create an intuitive system that makes relevant content easy to find - for internal and external users.

We are very satisfied with the solution, the cooperation and the charitable commitment of Bechtle. Bechtle developed the AI-based application pro bono for us, which is very supportive. We particularly appreciate the fact that the application is constantly being further developed and that new functions are always being added. Solution.

Bechtle therefore implemented a cloud-based knowledge platform based on a combination of Microsoft Azure AI Services, a Large Language Model (LLM) and a vector database. The application analyzes and structures existing documents so that relevant information is output even for imprecise queries. Seamless integration with Microsoft 365 allows authorized users to access the platform directly via SharePoint. At the same time, the integrated access control ensures that only authorized persons have access to sensitive content. In addition, Bechtle implemented Azure AI Search, a powerful search engine that incorporates both internal knowledge sources and external data sources for a comprehensive information base. The isolated Azure deployment, combined with multi-factor authentication, ensures the highest security standards and additionally protects all stored data. The intuitive user interface facilitates handling and integrates seamlessly into existing processes. Bechtle is continuously developing the platform and regularly adds new functions. This means that volunteer managers worldwide can access the powerful, secure and future-proof knowledge management system from managerohnegrenzen, make informed decisions and benefit from the knowledge of previous managers.
