There are two methods—e-mail and app.
The e-mail method utilises the user’s e-mail address.
The app method leverages a third-party authentication app (e.g. Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Free OTP).
No, this is optional.
With it, Bechtle is providing every user with an additional layer of security.
Yes, users can enable and disable two-factor authentication or switch to another method in their accounts.
When logging in, users will be asked to enter a six-figure security code after inputting their login credentials. Depending on the method selected, this code will either be generated in an app or e-mailed. Once the code has been entered and confirmed, the user will be logged in.
No. When two-factor authentication functional cookies have been accepted, users will only have to enter a code once every 24 hours per browser.
There is also the possibility to save browsers, for which a code is not required.
Yes, saved browsers can be deleted at any time in the customer account.
Doing so will mean having to once again enter a security code when logging in.
If you’ve set up two-factor authentication, but you no longer have access to the linked app/e-mail account, please get it touch with your Bechtle account manager.
Not everyone will be able to configure two-factor authentication straight away as it is being gradually rolled out.
