This course provides the knowledge required for the configuration and operation of a Linux desktop computer within an (existing) local network. After an introduction to the system log service, TCP/IP basics and Linux network configuration, we'll take an in-depth look at network troubleshooting as well as launching services with systemd. We'll also touch on managing the system time, printing and important network services such as Secure Shell as well as connecting a client to a mail server. The course is rounded off with an introduction to encrypting files with GnuPG and an overview of Linux security. (LPI 102)
